Acoustic Amplification has a rich history of artists spanning many genres including fusion, funk, and hard rock. Although better known for their bass amplifiers, the GT50 Guitar Amplifier spews out that raw rock sound like the amps of yesteryear and the user friendly control panels and footswitch make it immensely versatile. At your feet you can select between the channel, high or low gain, reverb, and the boost. The master volume, presence, and equalization controls are steady constants you can use as a building block for your sound. Balancing the channels is easy with independent volumes and a lead gain knob lets you explore from light crunch to heavy distortion. The Accutronics spring reverb tank can take you to 60s surf rock or add that pinch of depth to your solos. Directly next to the power switches is a power attenuator switch which works in junction with a selector on the back of the amp to control the voltage running the two 6L6 power tubes. In Triode mode you can switch from 25 watts to 12 watts which helps maintain break up at lower volumes. In Pentode mode it switches from 25 watts to 50 watts and boy does this thing come alive. The other controls on the rear panel include the boost level, FX Loop In/Out and level, and a variety of speaker outputs ranging from 4 to 16 ohms.
