Reintroduced in the early '70s, this 1973 Gibson J-55 is a square shoulder dreadnought creating a combination of great tonal balance and projection. The body features mahogany back and sides with a spruce top and double-x bracing. The mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard are carved to facilitate ease of playability and a slender profile.  This guitar features it's original Grover tuners, pearl dot markers, and mother of pearl Gibson logo on the head-stock.  The binding on the rear of the guitar has been replaced because of shrinkage, common to most of these older Gibson flattops. It sounds incredible and the hand rubbed original lacquer finish shows minute lacquer checking, like all good guitars from that era.  It has the look and feel of a well loved and used instrument in good condition.
