This Polaris White SG Special is a rare version and the pinnacle of vintage guitars, in the eyes and hands of accomplished players worldwide. There were MANY more Cherry finished examples made of these and the White version (in this condition) is a breathtaking sight to behold. The Mahogany body is light and adds warmth to the sound with the Mahogany neck and bound Rosewood fingerboard giving notes lots of definition. It has a slim early 60’s profile with the earlier and highly desirable 1 11/16” wide nut, Pearloid dot fret markers, soapbar P-90 pickups, abbreviated pickguard, and Maestro Vibrola tailpiece are where the SG Special deviates from it's Standard counterparts. Players can still enjoy the individual volume and tone controls, gloss neck, and heel joint strap button making this guitar easy to wear and to play. Gibson deluxe hardshell case included. We have added a clip of the infamous Steve Kimock playing this guitar. The SG is one of the best selling guitars among rock players having been used by Pete Townsend of The Who, Frank Zappa, AC/DC, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, and countless others. This rare Polaris White SG, made in Kalamazoo Michigan, pays homage to the guitars of yesteryear being built with the same great precision and care.
