Eric Clapton's original "Blackie" guitar wasn't an original guitar. Clapton bought 4 different 50s Strats as well as a batch of vintage parts in the 1970's from Sho-bud Music and of this made 4 guitars. He gave one to Steve Winwood, George Harrison, and Pete Townshend. The original "Blackie" guitar is 1956 body in a rare factory black with a 1957 "V" shaped neck with some pickups dating as late as 1970. The Fender USA Eric Clapton Signature is a faithful recreation of this wildly famous guitar with active electronics and Fender Noiseless single coil pickups. 5-way switching still gets you all the strat-y tones you know and love, but more sonic variety with TBX tone control and Mid boost. The middle tone is the TBX; Bass boost 4-1 and Treble boost 6-10 with a center notch at 5 for neutral tone. The bottom tone is your Mid boost which boosts midrange and bass frequencies with 1-2 as neutral and 10 boosting the signal 25dB. Certificate Of Authenticity and care booklet included in the original tweed hardshell case. This guitar is in beautiful condition.
(Guitar's trem is currently blocked, as done in the factory to emulate Clapton's. We can set the bridge to float upon request.)
