The Vega Company's heyday was the first three decades of the 20th century, when they were producing some of the best banjos ever made (and in large numbers). Vega survived the transition to archtop guitars since they already had experience with building excellent guitars and mandolins, but their sales were never quite the same after the banjo era faded. They were pioneers of electrification, adding pickups to just about anything with strings in the mid '30s. Being about 64 years old it's no surprise this E-50 has significant cosmetic wear, including a replaced tuning machine, but still plays and sounds like a dream! This 1966 double pickup vintage Epiphone E-230TD Casino is a fine example of a guitar that made remarkable history with many period bands of the 1960's including the Beatles. After the introduction in 1961, the Casino was just one of several new thinline archtops designed and produced at the company’s adopted new factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan that it shared with all the new Gibson guitars. This great example has a double bound all maple body with the early production warm faded cherry sunburst finish, f-holes, and a bound Brazilian rosewood fretboard with parallelogram inlays. The CTS pots date to 1966 with a code of 1376631.  It is equipped with two P-90 pickups with chrome covers, trapeze tailpiece, and Kluson Deluxe tuners. This one has the sought after large headstock and includes a newer hard shell case. It plays and sounds great and has the period lacquer checking throughout. The original early soft cherry sunburst finish on the face is faded beautifully to a warm burst and the rear walnut color looks rich and attractive as well. It is a great piece of rock 'n roll history, ready for a collection, studio work or gig time. The Casino was adopted by Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones who used one to record the demo for “Satisfaction” at Chess Records in Chicago. Howlin' Wolf took a Casino on his first tour of the UK, appearing on Thank Your Lucky Stars. Paul McCartney purchased his Casino first, loved it, and then John Lennon and George Harrison bought Casinos and used them on the Beatles' 1966 world tour. John elevated the use of his Casino more than the others, using it on many records and videos, then later stripped the sunburst finish and played it on the roof concert sporting the natural wood look. The casino was his most famous instrument while in the Beatles.

Here we have a great vintage Marshall amplifier with all the originality and tone without the vintage cost. This model 5210 is a 50 watt split channel transistor amplifier made in England in 1987 (sn: V 37071). In essence, it's a solid state JCM800 with a clean channel and spring reverb. Without the footswitch the channels are combined and reverb is on. To isolate one channel, simply turn down the opposite channel volume. Although Marshall is not known for their clean tones, the 5210 has a surprisingly pleasant clean channel with controls for volume, bass, and treble. Where this amp really begins to shine is the boost channel. This channel features gain, volume, bass, middle, and treble controls which can achieve Clapton to Hetfield and every sonic variety in between. The master reverb and volume controls along with the Celestion G12M 70 watt speaker ensure this amp will deliver on all fronts from bedroom to headroom. 

The rear panel features four jacks; headphones out, effects return, effects send, and footswitch (from left to right). For headphones, turn the amp off first. By inserting the headphone jack half way, this mutes the internal speaker. Plugging in all the way maintains full speaker output plus line out. The effects loop is an excellent tool for adding in modulation or time based effects as the signal goes through the preamp stage, out to the pedals, and back in before the power section keep your tone clearer. Footswitch not included, but will function with a 2 button TRS footswitch. Original slip cover included.

Jim Marshall is considered the "Godfather of Loud" and his amps have been used by world's most prolific rockers. With their 1981 release of the JCM800, a whole new generation fell in love with them for all the same reasons: reliability, power output, style, and tone. Some members of this new generation included James Hetfield, Kerry King, Yngwie Malmsteen, Zakk Wylde, Slash, Jerry Cantrell, Billie Joe Armstrong, and Daron Malakian to name a few. This all original Marshall JCM800 Model 2203 100 watt amp head and matching 1960A 4 x 12 cabinet are a matching set from 1988 and come with the original slip covers (sn: W 29252 and 282823). The front panel features 3-band eq, Presence, Preamp, and Master volume controls which is sent through three 12AX7 preamp and 4 EL34 power tubes. The amp head then drives four Celestion G12T-75 speakers delivering everything from clean to heavy distortion with enormous amounts of headroom. This amplifier and cabinet are fully functioning and are in excellent condition with exception to the few scuffs on the back of the cabinet pictured below. Local pickup only.

Available for sale is an all original 1997 Gibson Custom Shop ES-5 Switchmaster 17" hollow-body archtop guitar in the SUPER RARE and highly desirable Translucent Cherry lacquer finish. The top, back, and sides all display beautiful flame maple. All original ES-5 Switchmasters with humbuckers are becoming increasingly more difficult to find regardless of price or condition. Five-ply binding is installed on the fingerboard as well as on the front and back of the body. The five-piece neck (three pieces of flame maple with two walnut strips separating them) sports a pointed-end rosewood fretboard with large block inlays. The headstock is bound in front, has a stinger on the back and is factory equipped with gold-plated Grover tuners. B.B. King, Carl Perkins, and Wes Montgomery all turned to their ES-5s for their sonic versatility and its no wonder. The three humbucking pickups perform exceptionally well and―together with the four-position selector switch―offer a wide range of tones not otherwise found on a full hollow body electric. There are no alterations to the body, neck or electronics. No part of this guitar has been drilled since leaving the factory. The intonation is perfect and the action allows for smooth and easy playability. Hardshell case included.

The Taylor Solid Body has been designed from the ground up to create a playing experience that is totally new and unique, yet unmistakably Taylor. The culmination of years of guitar building knowledge and innovation has resulted in an exciting blend of technology and tradition. Less weight is the sole motivation behind most solid bodies that are chambered. Taylor's primary motivation is tone, utilizing chambers to not only lighten the body weight, but also to create the optimal tonal "bloom". The flame Maple top is inlaid into the Mahogany body, allowing for a defined edge with binding and contours up to that edge. The SB-1's Mahogany single bolt precision neck and Ebony fingerboard feature Taylor's hallmark playability and adjustability thanks to it's satin finish and medium c profile. Two humbuckers, specially designed by David Hosler at Taylor, balance the sweetness of a vintage pickup with the power to drive an amp without being super hot. A five position switch unleashes old and new tones; 1 full neck humbucker, 2 inside coils of both pickups in parallel, 3 full neck pickup with inside coil of the bridge pickup, 4 inside coil of each pickup in series, and 5 full bridge pickup. Lastly the all aluminum bridge solves the intonation drift and ergonomic problems associated with other electric bridges with players able to lock the saddles down once adjusted. Specification booklet and original Taylor branded hardshell case included.

In 1954, Leo Fender launched the Stratocaster and revolutionized guitar making and music the world over. This beautiful 2011 USA Stratocaster demonstrates that same care and love for fine instrument making over 70 years later. This Alder body in rare Honeyburst finish is bolted to a one piece Maple neck with Walnut skunk stripe and 9.5" radius on a Rosewood fretboard. Since the dawn of rock and roll, the snap and response that comes from a bolt-on neck guitar has been an essential part of the mix. These attributes have, in turn, become essential to many players trying to tell their story through music. The CE 24 pairs PRS’s traditional body combination of the Mahogany back and flame Maple top with a bolt-on Maple neck and Rosewood fretboard. The neck sports a Pattern Thin carve and satin nitro finish for a natural, addictive feel. To further maximize the guitar’s inherent tone and clarity, the CE 24 features PRS 85/15 pickups, which Paul designed to have remarkable clarity as well as extended high and low end. Although Kurt Cobain was seen playing a variety of Fender guitars over the years, his Fender Jaguar and Mustang remain the most iconic due to their use on the "Nevermind" tour and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" music video. Kurt designed the Jag-Stang to combine his favorite elements of both instruments and brought it to life with help from the Fender Custom Shop in 1993. The Alder body delivers a punchy tone perfect for big power chords, the 24" short-scale reduces string tension for easier playing, and the 7.25" radius Rosewood fingerboard with Maple neck has a comfortable feel that won't fatigue your hands when chording.
