1965 Mustang Daphne Blue w/ OHSC
S-111649
Regular price $2,750.00 Save $-2,750.00In the 1950s along side the boom of the Telecaster and Stratocaster, Fender sought to hone in an instrument for students at shops that were also lesson centers. We first see appearances from models like the Musicmaster and Duo-Sonic, but in 1964 Fender launched their newest student model; the Mustang. The slanted single-coil pickups from the earlier models phased through onto the new with the new Fender Dynamic Vibrato being the first "whammy bar" on a Fender student model. The smaller Poplar contoured body makes the Mustang light and easy to hold and 24" scale Maple neck and Rosewood "slab" fingerboard add immensely to the ease of play of these guitars. It's no wonder why players like Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Cobain turned to this underappreciated Fender offset design to help define a generation of music. Original hardshell case included.

1964 Melody Maker 3-Tone Sunburst w/ Original HSC
S-157757
Regular price $1,750.00 Save $-1,750.00Introduced in 1959, the Gibson Melody Maker was the entry level in those days listed for $165. Notable players include Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, Terry Kath of Chicago, and Joan Jett. The Mahogany body has a nicely checked sunburst finish, wraparound tail piece, and single single-coil pickup mounted to the black pickguard with master volume and tone and "Melody Maker" silkscreen. The set Mahogany neck and unbound Rosewood fingerboard are of similar construction to the SG and Les Paul Juniors and has the same stripped down "raw" vibe of those guitars also. 1969 D-28 Brazilian (coming soon)
11469
Regular price $0.01 Save $-0.01This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to procure and own an original solid Brazilian Rosewood Martin D-28 produced by their employees in the old Nazareth facility in 1969. The condition is excellent with no appreciable wear to the frets, as this beautiful guitar was carefully stored in a comfortable climate for all these 54 years since it was built. The cosmetic condition is exceptional, the playability superb and the sound is amazing with ALL the resonance, clarity, presence, and bottom you would expect from the solid Brazilian Rosewood back and sides with the beautiful Spruce top. This Martin includes it's original hard shell case.
In the early days of Martin factory production a veteran employee was allowed to build a guitar for their personal use, with other employees noted for their expertise, on their own time - in the factory with all Martin factory materials. This is the case with this rare gem. The only addition to the D-28 standard features that this person decided to add was the D-41 inlays and cosmetic touches. With this special addition to the stock D-28, the original branding on the neck heel reads the employee's name and the date of completion (11-4-69). Please make an appointment to talk to John, at our shop, about the details or any questions you may have. Because of the rarity of this guitar and high collector value, local pickup is offered for it. Any arrangements for possible shipping will be at the responsibility and expense of the buyer.

2020 USA Clapton "Blackie" Stratocaster w/ Original HSC
20000618
Regular price MSRP $2,100.00 Sale price $1,560.00 Save $540.00Eric Clapton's original "Blackie" guitar wasn't an original guitar. Clapton bought 4 different 50s Strats as well as a batch of vintage parts in the 1970's from Sho-bud Music and of this made 4 guitars. He gave one to Steve Winwood, George Harrison, and Pete Townshend. The original "Blackie" guitar is 1956 body in a rare factory black with a 1957 "V" shaped neck with some pickups dating as late as 1970. The Fender USA Eric Clapton Signature is a faithful recreation of this wildly famous guitar with active electronics and Fender Noiseless single coil pickups. 5-way switching still gets you all the strat-y tones you know and love, but more sonic variety with TBX tone control and Mid boost. The middle tone is the TBX; Bass boost 4-1 and Treble boost 6-10 with a center notch at 5 for neutral tone. The bottom tone is your Mid boost which boosts midrange and bass frequencies with 1-2 as neutral and 10 boosting the signal 25dB. Certificate Of Authenticity and care booklet included in the original tweed hardshell case. This guitar is in beautiful condition.
(Guitar's trem is currently factory blocked, as done in the factory to emulate Clapton's. We can set the bridge to float upon request.)

Custom Handmade 0-21 w/ Custom Coffin Case
C-16MM3
Regular price $1,250.00 Save $-1,250.00Robert Johnston is an American luthier from Collegeville, Pa and specializes in classical and steel string acoustics. Hand crafted in 2003, No. 16 is a single "O" parlor based heavily on a 1870s Martin 0-21. The guitar was designed and built with the idea of keeping it as authentic as possible, but several concessions to modern technology were made in order to provide a practical instrument. The body is comprised of a Sitka Spruce top bound with Cocobolo and a Maple fillet to Indian Rosewood back and sides. Although anachronistic of the Civil War period, this guitar is braced for light gauge steel strings because it was designed to be played along side banjo and nylon strings wouldn't have had sufficient volume. The mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard join the body at the 12th fret with two bolts at the base of the heel. This style joint has been popularized by Taylor Guitars and makes future repairs much easier should the neck need to be removed. The coffin case is handmade of 1/4" cabinet-grade birch plywood with "Hunter Green" felt interior and reproduction handle, hinges, lock, and hasps. Painted flat black with a final coat of boiled linseed oil, the case was made using measurements from the Martin factory's "Guitar Makers Connection". Other enhancements include Indian Rosewood head plate, Waverly hand engraved 3-on-a-plate tuners, bone nut and saddle, ebony "pyramid" bridge, bone bridge pins with abalone dots, herringbone purfling and rosette, and a french polish finish in blonde shellac.
(spec sheet and care booklet included)

LS-TA Vintage Natural Acoustic w/ TransAcoustic Electronics
LS-TA-VT
Regular price MSRP $1,808.00 Sale price $1,129.99 Save $678.01While the TransAcoustic's electronics deserve acclaim, the guitar is a high-quality acoustic instrument in its own right. With a single strum you'll notice the detail and warmth of the guitar's A.R.E.-treated solid Engelmann spruce top. Yamaha's A.R.E. technology artificially ages the wood, achieving the clarity of tone found on great vintage instruments. The LS-TA's back and sides are crafted from solid rosewood, which imbues the instrument with powerful low and high frequencies. The S body style is a comfortable design, similar to popular folk and OM acoustics with the narrower waist adding a focused midrange to the guitar's acoustic voice. The guitar's calling card is its onboard reverb and chorus effects. What sets them apart from other instruments with onboard effects is that these don't require any external amplification. Engage the effects via the simple-to-use controls and you'll experience and acoustic experience like playing in a rich, ambient venue. And when it's time for the gig, you can access those same great tones plugged in through the guitar's System70 pickup system and rigid Yamaha bag. (guitar and case included for reference)
