First introduced in 1995 the Carvin AC-40F is a slender and unique bass offering exceptional unplugged projection and tone thanks to its semi-hollow, neck-through construction. The Carvin AC-40F consists of a mahogany body, mahogany neck, and AAA Engleman spruce top creating the lightweight, resonant, and beautiful instrument. Inlayed with white line markers and white pearloid dots the ebony fingerboard reaches a full two octave range capable of handling even the most demanding of players. An LR Baggs ribbon acoustic pickup was chosen to retain the acoustic qualities of this bass, and is enhanced by a 9V preamp curcuit with Volume, Bass and Treble controls.
