While the Hummingbird was designed to compete with Martin's Dreadnought, in 1960 Gibson's luthiers made some bold choices that give the guitar it's unique tone and aesthetics. A shortened scale length and slim neck profile made the guitar more welcoming to electric guitar players, and it's parallelogram inlays and gorgeous cherry-red sunburst finish made sure that it was easily visible from the audience. The early Hummingbird also sported an adjustable bridge for easy action adjustments, which was later changed to a more traditional steel-string fixed bridge. Over 60 years later, the Epiphone Hummingbird Pro updates the 60s classic with a solid Spruce top, Mahogany neck and body, and traditional binding while the Grover Rotomatic 18:1 ratio tuners, historic Hummingbird pickguard, and Epiphone Performer preamp make this an amazing buy for today's demanding players.
