Revstar balances Japanese innovation and traditional artisanship. Modern features enhance playability, versatility, and tone, while the design references classic Yamaha electric guitars going back to 1966. The original Revstar guitars launched in 2015—our first new electric guitar series in more than a decade. A completely refreshed lineup was introduced in 2022. The Revstar style is inspired by café racer motorcycles—stripped-down performance machines that were customized to reflect the personality of their riders. Revstar Element guitars feature chambered mahogany bodies designed to sculpt tone and reduce weight, providing a clear, full sound and comfortable playing experience. The mahogany neck is painted, but received a satin finish decreasing friction while moving up and down the neck. Rosewood fingerboards adorn these necks keeping chords clean and clear. The humbucking pickups on the Revstar Element feature Volume and Tone controls, a 3-way blade switch, and a push/pull "dry" switch. This switch is really a high-pass filter for brighter tones without the added noise or power drop of conventional coil splits making this Yamaha a contender for any serious players.
