The Hummingbird Studio Rosewood continues Gibson’s long history of producing world-famous square shoulder body designs, such as the Hummingbird, Dove, and Songwriter models. The Hummingbird Studio Rosewood is handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana, using all-solid tonewoods, including a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer-finished Sitka spruce top for wide dynamic range, playing responsiveness, and balanced tone. The rosewood used for crafting the back and sides delivers a bit more rich-sounding bass and sparkling treble overtones than the traditional mahogany-bodied Hummingbird models, ensuring rich, deep tone and excellent volume and projection. The Hummingbird Studio Rosewood is equipped with an Advanced Response profile and mahogany neck for smooth, easy playability. The fretboard’s 16” radius makes playing fast passages easy and efficient, contributing further to the model’s excellent playability. The rosewood fretboard has 20 standard-sized frets and is adorned with the classic mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays. You’ll find yourself reaching for this guitar again and again since playing it is so enjoyable. The headstock is equipped with smooth-turning Grover Rotomatic tuning machines and a Graph Tech TUSQ nut for excellent tuning stability so you can spend more time playing and less time tuning. The saddle and bridge pins installed on the rosewood bridge plate are also TUSQ.
The Hummingbird Studio Rosewood comes equipped with LR Baggs Element Bronze electronics that are ready for you to hit the stage or plug into your computer for easy recording. By using an ultra-fine sensing element, Element Bronze retains the nuances of your playing and the natural tone of this instrument better than comparable systems. And with generations of high-end circuit design in LR Baggs' résumé, you can rest assured that your first chord will sound just as good as the last with Element Bronze electronics. Gibson branded hardshell case included.
